Techniques for Painting and Printing Graphics on Glass

We offer glass painting and printing in three technologies:

  • Full-surface painting using rollers (coater)
  • Screen printing
  • UV digital printing

We provide:

  • Unlimited selection of screen printing patterns
  • A wide range of colors: water-based paints and enamel coatings
  • The ability to paint and print on glass pieces of any shape
  • High durability of printed layers
  • Resistance to atmospheric factors
  • High mechanical strength against bending
  • High resistance to thermal stress

UV Printed Glass

We use a modern UV plotter to perform UV printing, which involves applying ink to glass that is cured with UV light. The printer enables high-quality, photo-grade images as well as any patterns and graphics, including full-surface printing on irregularly shaped glass pieces. UV printing on glass offers high durability but not complete resistance to mechanical damage. To ensure lasting durability, we offer laminated glass with the print encapsulated inside the laminate. This technique provides resistance to atmospheric conditions, including UV radiation.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR UV PRINTING ON GLASS
Maximum material size for printing 3200 x 2000 mm (maximum print area, edge-to-edge printing)
Printing on larger sizes is possible upon individual inquiry with the Sales Department.
Maximum material thickness 48 mm
Maximum glass thickness 12 mm
(Greater thicknesses possible with individual agreements with the Sales Department.)
Material for printing

Flat rigid materials, such as:

  • Glass
  • Polymers (including transparent materials like acrylic)
  • Cardboard and high-weight paper
  • Aluminum
  • Other
Inks
  • CMYK standard inks with an additional white (W) color
  • The print is created by layering four rasterized images in Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black.
  • UV curing
Key limitations and working conditions
  • White is printed as a solid color with no tonal transitions.
  • Single-layer printing is transparent.
  • To reduce transparency, a backing layer (e.g., white) is applied.

Anti-Slip Coating on Glass

For use on horizontal surfaces: glass floors and stairs
The anti-slip coating on glass is a ceramic print applied through screen printing and cured during glass tempering. Anti-slip ceramic paints contain fine quartz additives. After application, the coating is fused into the glass during thermal tempering, resulting in a textured surface resistant to mechanical and chemical damage.
COLOR OPTIONS: Standard colors for the anti-slip layer at Dubiel Vitrum are satin (resembling etched or sandblasted glass) and white (RAL 9003). Additionally, custom colors based on the RAL palette can be ordered.
